I’m feeling about 90% better now. Still have an occasional cough, but a Strepsil fixes it. I think I’m gonna go ahead with my idea for dinner and a movie tonight. The only movie that seemed appealing was the bad boys movie. I think it’s a sequel, but I’ve never seen whatever the original version is. Oh well. I’m sure I’ll figure out what’s happening. And indian for dinner. The only time I’ve had indian food from a restaurant I got food poisoning, but I do like a good curry (even if my spice tolerance is basically a Dorito) and this place is a little less dodgy, so I’m sure I’ll be right

Edit: oh, on further thoughts, I won’t get back until after the buses in my area finish up for the night. Rip. Guess it’ll have to be a taxi home. Oh well

Don’t know how it’s Saturday already… Anyways, has anybody noticed that the air quality has gone to shit the past day or so? I swear there’s smoke or something, can’t open the windows as the air hurts my throat. Seems to be happening quite a bit the past few months every couple of days. Planned burns?

Air quality is 90 at the moment. That’s not really bad for most people, but can be triggering for people with allergies or similar. For context, it was about 160 or so in melb during the 2019/20 bushfires, it’s currently 230 in new Dehli, but it’s 8 in Newcastle and 33 in Sydney

For me it really depends on what the particulate matter is comprised of. I’m very sensitive to some things as I can have issues breathing when PM2.5 is around 5 μg/m³ depending on what’s causing it

People are talking like it’s so cold I’m thinking like I should dress as I did when I lived in Detroit where the weather would be -10C for days and days on end. Warm hat under hood, feather knee long puffer, scarf, double layer gloves, knee high socks and snow boots. Jumper, pants and thermals.

I was wondering if there was a function for threads to be bumped back up to the top when posted in? Just so it’s easy to see active threads, there isn’t a lot of duplicates, and similar stuff is more easily consolidated into one thread. (ie. Cheap eats)

No worries if not - I don’t know how much work implementing that would be or if there’s even the option on Lemmy.

Almost finished restoring the kukri (gurkha knife) last night. Interestingly when placed in vinegar several times overnight, it’s the edge (hardest bit) that’s most affected chemically.

A word of advice is don’t tackle the edge after a few drinks. Looked like a murder scene.

Flying to Melbourne this morning, boy are my arms going to be tired.

Going to see my favourite comedian who was originally not coming to Brisbane… But then all of about 48 hours after we committed to tickets and accommodation in Melbourne announced Brisbane dates too. Funny joke, this is why he’s my favourite comedian.

Jokes on him though - I’m still going to go to Melbourne and get me a parmi, and then I’m going to see him in Brisbane too. Now who’s laughing? 😎

Knock off oodie update. Washed it. Gave it two spins and popped it on the rack in front of the heater yesterday. No need to spin dry - it’s basically dry this morning. The cuffs are a bit damp but I’m just gonna roll them.

This has been your PSA from snuggled land …

Pretty therapeutic cleaning out my carport after 3.5 years 😬 binned a whole lot of old crap from my old work car, swept up a huge pile of leaves, dust and debris, removed the years of neglect. Now it’s unrecognisably clean and tidy! So much less depressing to look at! I’m sure my neighbours will be happy too.

Aint much for a Saturday but I definitely feel like I’ve earned the right to chill for the rest of the day. Not gonna push myself too hard this weekend…
