Nah, it’s just wicked repetitive and I hate it. I had a cubicle neighbor that played the radio and it felt like that frigging song played in a loop, alongside the “kars 4 kids” jingle.
I’m a systems librarian in an academic library. I moved over the Lemmy after Rexxit 2023. I’ve had an account on sdf.org since 2009 (under a different username), and so I chose this instance out of a sense of nostalgia. I do all sorts of fiber arts (knitting, cross stitch, sewing) and love dogs.

I assume the landlord uses a service to share rent with the credit report agencies. The landlord can shop around for a cheaper service, or use their cousin who charges $50/tenant but gives the landlord a kickback.
Monthly cost or $10, whichever is less, is better. It means the landlord is incentivized to keep costs down. Even if it costs the landlord $50, they can only charge the tenant $10. If it costs them $5, they can only charge the tenant $5. It’s a ceiling on the cost.
I’m out of the loop. Could someone please explain like I’m a 5 year old that knows just enough Linux to be dangerous?
If you need a passport super short notice (possibly same-day) you can go to one of a few passport offices and hope they can fit you in. I looked into it a few years ago when I lost my passport right before a big business trip. Logistically it wouldn’t have worked for me (by the time I even got to the Boston office on that Monday my flight would have left), but yeah. Found my passport a few days later, tucked into a notebook.
My 7th grade algebra teacher would be annoyed that you didn’t show your work, step by step.
Totally agree. QLL is not a replacement for local queer spaces and resources, just a supplement.
I’m just going to drop this link off right here: https://www.queerliberationlibrary.org/ 🌈
Agreed, it’s pretty great. And while the computer sometimes misunderstands what you swipe, it will show you potential alternatives you can tap on. Like in this screenshot:
How many X are in XTX?
I wish they would. It might mean fewer fire alarms tripped by vapes. (I work in a college library and it’s not funny have to evacuate the building just because someone decided to vape in a study room.)
Walk someone else through editing a config file on the command-line over screenshare? Nano. Omg nano is your friend.
The problem with using nano for years is that I now try using nano shortcuts in other programs. Random new windows opening is confusing, until you figure out Ctrl+o isn’t save in that program. Then it’s just annoying because you still have your inappropriate muscle memory.
About 18x8 inches. Not to worry, I have a classroom-sized whiteboard as a backup.
If she has trouble remembering if she’s taken the meds, I highly recommend TimerCaps. They are a pill bottle lid that tells you how long it’s been since the bottle was opened.
We have several at my house-- I can check and see if my partner has drugged the dog or if I’ve taken my ADHD meds. My partner can also see if I’ve taken my meds.
I have a whiteboard on my desk. It’s the only effective “to do” list I’ve found, for me. It’s covered in chicken scratching. I erase stuff as I do them.
If it helps any, those memes go straight over my head.
I’d also want to see if the adopter has a history of not staying out of jail for more than 6 months at a time. For example: my brother has been arrested at least 21 times over the last 15 years. I don’t think his home-life is stable enough to support a pet.
Now, if, say, his roommate wanted a dog, my brother’s bullshit shouldn’t keep the roommate from getting a pup.
Ah, I thought you were being racist against people who might sing a song in a non-English language.
