Yeah maybe I will do that at some point but after days of searching through them I found an instance I don’t mind. And I didn’t have to learn how to be a network host…

I’ve seen more people whining about HexBear than I’ve seen posts by HexBear. As far as the “tankie” stuff goes, it really seems like people think tankies are anyone who’s looked at the Communist Manifesto. They couldn’t tell you anything about where the term comes from.

Moral of the story is to create your account on a smaller instance. It took me a few times to learn that lesson.

Neolibs pissed at the commies for coming into their communities and talking shit, commies pissed at neolibs for calling out their troll behavior in newly federated instances and doubling down on it. Mix it with new fed users who are still not quite sure how federation works or what it means, sprinkle in different blocking abilities depending on app of choice and you’ve got Tuesday in the fediverse.

Meanwhile they’re all missing amazing content and niche communities like the raccoon community and the diy home automation project community, to name a few of my favorites.

True, but .world IS kinda developing into the r/politics of Lemmy with regards to hordes of neoliberals taking over and deciding what is and isn’t acceptable.

Sincerely, leftist who can’t stand the politics of neoliberals OR tankies

tankies are authoritarian bootlickers, meaning they support the Russian invasion, deny the Tiananmen Square massacre and the Uyghur genocide, etc

No, they didn’t. Some state department lawyers (so not the CIA, also obligatory FUCK the CIA) were unable to prove intent to eradicate the Uyghur people, but found plenty of evidence of mass imprisonment, torture, forced labor, and forced sterilization. Lemmy comments aren’t international court so I don’t have to prove intent to say that forced sterilization on any level is genocide, which it is according to the Genocide Convention.

~The cautious conclusions of State Department lawyers do not constitute a judgment that genocide did not occur in Xinjiang but reflects the difficulties of proving genocide […]~

~The Genocide Convention enumerates five categories of genocide, starting with the killing of members of a protected group but also including acts aimed at preventing a victim’s ability to bear children and forcibly separating children from their communities. Critics of the State Department’s legal stance have argued that it has focused too heavily on the first category, mass killing, and not enough on the other categories. In the case of China, these critics note, there is little evidence that it is engaging in mass killings of Uighurs and other minorities, many of whom have been subjected to indoctrination and pressed into forced labor. But evidence that it is carrying out other forms of genocide abounds, Beth Van Schaack, a visiting professor at Stanford Law School’s Center for Human Rights and International Justice, wrote in a recent post on Just Security.~

~“For example, the torture, rape and sexual violence committed against Uyghurs likely constitute genocide ‘by causing serious bodily and mental harm’—the second type of genocide recognized by the Convention,” she wrote. “Likewise, the deplorable living conditions of incarcerated Uyghurs may constitute genocide by ‘deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about [their] physical destruction’—the third form of genocide.”~

                ~Forced sterilization: https://www.bmj.com/content/375/bmj.n3124.full~

~China’s own documents provide evidence of forced sterilization (I should’ve led with this one, big ticket item here): https://jamestown.org/program/sterilizations-iuds-and-mandatory-birth-control-the-ccps-campaign-to-suppress-uyghur-birth-rates-in-xinjiang/~

PLEASE LEARN WHO ADRIAN ZENZ IS AND STOP CITING HIM

Your sources are 1) the State Department saying “our biggest lie is no longer tenable but we’re not backing down that easy” while giving no evidence for anything, 2) a paywalled decision from an unofficial tribunal that appears to just be some random fucking people in the UK, and 3) Adrian fucking Zenz, an infamous propagandist who has been caught lying and misrepresenting data numerous times, including in that report

                  Please find better sources.

Zenz is cited everywhere, and you should always check for his name. Ask me tomorrow if you want more examples of him lying. Form your own conclusions, but don’t look to that guy.

Unapologetic, aggressive supporters of Leninist/Stalinist or Maoist/Xiist authoritarian communist state policy. They got the name for support of responding to people deviating from the party line by rolling in with tanks.

LG/HB are vanguard af and we doesn’t afraid of anything! I have this account because I made it around the same time I made my LG account and like that Lemmy.ml is pretty good for normies (no hate) of various kinds. Joined HB long before it federated and after the CTH subreddit was quarantined. Both places are much more chill than folks think. HB is much more trollie and should be taken with more than a pinch of salt. LG is much more serious and strict, but you just need to be clear in phrasing things in good-faith if asking questions. Are there dicks on both? Yes, just like there are on here and any other instance. But I think they both benefit more from lurking for a while if not used to non-liberal leftist spaces. Feel free to downvote all you want if you disagree or whatever…or are right-wing of course. #PunchNazisIntoTheDirt

I got called a bigot by 7 or 8 hexadytes for suggesting that when people finish transitioning they’re no longer trans. Cuz they’re done.

HB is toxic, if anyone is even on the fence about trans rights and they talk to those people? I bet, if any of them were actually aware of HB, conservatives would fucking LOVE that community. “Look at all these unstable freaks! This is the trans agenda!” or whatever other dogshit they might spew about trans people.

Honestly, yours its a weird take. it is based as if being trans is something to be cured and overcome instead of something that defines you, even after transitioning. also throwing another trans people under the bus is not as good as a strategy as you think.

Why does being trans define you?

If your entire goal is to become what you feel you’re meant to be, then why would being trans be anything other than a temporary state?

it is based as if being trans is something to be cured and overcome instead of something that defines you, even after transitioning

Lol, no you just assumed all of that and have no causal reasoning for it. Just like all the other hexbear users!

also throwing another trans people under the bus is not as good as a strategy as you think

What are you even fucking saying? How can you be so braindead to treat acceptance as some underhanded “trans people are mentally ill” message, and then make the other MASSIVE leap to me throwing trans people under the bus? Actually, do you even know what that phrase means? Because you used it incorrectly.
