Same for those taking bluetooth speakers or using their phone speakers into public parks blaring their shitty music. We would prefer to only listen to our shitty music at home or in the car not in the park where we can go to get a break from it.

The world is too loud. And too bright. And it stinks as well. I’ve never understood it until I learned that I’m a bit on the autistic side of the spectrum. But for real. A lot of our modern pollutions are man made and could be so easily avoided.

    Completely agree.

But the main culprit by far is fast cars or vehicles with loud engines.

In 99% of places, urban, suburban they are the loudest noise.

In European cities, the worst noise over capacity ratio is motor scooters and those large motorbike that are designed for noise (such as Harley-Davidson).

I never understand this. Most of the time when I see this it’s a low-throughput business like a pawn shop trying to entice people to come inside. But why would I get any closer to your loud-as-fuck speaker that you’ve propped the door open with blaring shitty trap music?

Go check out downtown Nashville, it sounds like someone gave 500 toddlers musical instruments and red bull. When it all mixes together it just sounds like noise

    -1 not unopular.

But it’s not the worst form of noise pollution; unneccesary motor vehicles, and phones on public transport are worse.

Measure the noise level outside the edge of their property, if it is lower than a car driving by, it’s hard to complain too much. If it’s directed off their property directly onto a public street then yes.

The ones I hate the most are on public beaches. At least in Romania where I live, when you go to the beach in summer, there is always some shitty bar that blasts music you can hear 500m away and occupy a lot of public beach space with their beach chairs for rent.

I don’t know if this is necessarily an unpopular opinion, but I am forced to disagree, particularly with restaurants. I have fairly severe misophonia, and that music is the only thing that allows me to eat in public, or generally be in many public spaces.

If the sounds that people make while eating (or a lot of the sounds people make at all) aren’t covered up, it isn’t just a shudder like “nails on a chalkboard” for me. I will literally go into fight or flight mode and sprint out of the area.

So I, for one appreciate the constant noise.

Look, I completely sympathise, but your point of view here is “because I am inconvenienced, everyone needs to adjust for me”. How many people are affected by this?

If you are in need of masking other people sounds while eating, you can surely bring your own music and headphones and whatever to support you.

So, sorry, but I am with OP here. Loud music in public places such as restaurants is annoying.

No, I never suggested that everyone has to adjust to me. That’s just my perspective on things. I just said that I appreciate the music. I don’t disagree that most people don’t like it. And that’s why this is likely far from an unpopular opinion.

Give it a bit more time. Soon we’ll have those directional speaker. Linus from Linus techtips showed them a few weeks ago. They will be able to blast you hundreds of meters away with directional noise that only people hear who they want it to hear.

To add onto that: If others can hear your crappy music booming out of your car, then you should get a ticket. If your exhaust sounds like a literal giant asshole blasting farts and is audible beyond 50 meters, you should get a ticket.

If you drive a big truck and jake brake in a residential neighborhood, believe it or not, straight to jail.

they put on a good show

I could see that. I just googled ‘worst band ever’ and Limp Bizkit was the first autocomplete result so that’s what i went with lol.

Not far down from Limp Bizkit, actually, and those are the only two results that mention a band at all lol.

Limp Bizkit wasn’t that bad. Fred Durst was kind of a douche, but looking back at it I can’t think of any specific thing he did besides wear a stupid looking hat backwards, and have a douche looking face. Their music was alright for the time.

If you’re 20ish years old right now, I PROMISE you, some popular band or musician you like now will fall out of popularity. They’ll be a product of their time. It’s not going to be the mega chart toppers like Taylor Swift. But maybe one thats only been popular for less than 5 years.

20 years from now, you’ll look back like “ooooooooh yeeeeaaaaah, I remember them! Wow. Hadn’t thought about them in years…”

And the then current generation, who never grew up with them will be like “THEY’RE THE WORST MUSIC EVER!!! EWWWW STINKY STINKFACE!!!”

And you’ll be like “What? They had a few good songs for their time…I mean, they don’t hold up today or anything, but it was alright if you were a teenager back then”

Listen to grandpa simpson. It’ll happen to yyyooouuuuu!!!
