A witness tells The Associated Press that Israeli soldiers fatally shot an American woman participating in a protest against settlements in the West Bank.
Well, the BBC headline avoids saying it was the Israelis killing her, they just say that the killing and the shots happened concurrently, but it fails to establish cause-effect.
“They did their job correctly this time” doesn’t erase a lifetime of them failing to do so. For every professional example like this I see many more that do the opposite.
First western headline that doesn’t mince
Well, it still uses “fatally shot” instead of “killed”. And there is evidently no reason to do so, since they use “killed” in the article enough.
Even still. Most are like, ‘Woman (allegedly American) no longer alive due to visiting West Bank, claim some’.
Most headlines don’t even say who killed her.
CNN: American activist shot dead by Israeli forces at West Bank protest, eyewitnesses say
Reuters: Israeli troops shoot Turkish-American woman dead at West Bank protest, officials say
BBC: US-Turkish protester killed in West Bank as Israeli forces opened fire
PBS: Israeli soldiers shoot and kill an American woman during a West Bank protest, witness says
I could keep going but I’m sure you get the point by now.
Tbf, that BBC one is garbage that makes it sound like the IDF shooting was concurrent with but not necessarily the cause of her death.

Some people are desperate to paint themselves as victims of the media.
