Moderation Reminder:
Flame wars in the comments section don’t do anything but inspire more cynicism and aggression. Don’t like a story? Then downvote it, and maybe leave a constructive comment. Then move on.
Did someone respond negatively, unconstructively, or aggressively? Let a mod know rather than feeding into it. Our community doesn’t need the comments turning into a cesspool of insults.
Don’t these sort of stories end up with the employee getting fired for some frivolous crap like performing unauthorized activities or something?
I mean I’d surely hope not, it’s wonderful that they managed to save the baby, but we live in a dystopia…
Hopefully the glow of public attention will protect her for a little while at least. Corporate probably doesn’t want her calling back GMA for a follow-up interview.
I’m hoping for the happy-cynical, orphan-crushing-machine ending: someone sets up a GoFundMe and raises a bunch of money to allow the mother of four to raise her children and not be stuck managing a Taco Bell.
How long do you think it’ll take corporate to fire her? Because no good deed goes unpunished in this hell.
Can’t you just be happy that a life was saved? Does everything have to be shit on?
You can both be happy that a life was saved and be aware that due to the corporate dystopia we live in they’re probably getting fired.
But they’re not. Taco Bell already said they’re proud of what she did. How about you lighten up and let a good thing just be a good thing.
Where are people getting that she’ll probably get fired? Based on what?
Precident. Plus anyone who’s worked one of those jobs will tell you that shit absolutely happens all the time

No, it doesn’t.
Based on the new reality these people create so they can be outraged.

I’ll tell you what… you get a free “I told to so” when that happens.
