  • Gotte be Fairphone. I bought the FP5 when it was out pretty new from Murena. It came with a de-googled android rom called /e/ preinstalled. Couldn’t be happier. I love the way you can just open the back and exchange any part with a simple phillips head screwdriver as well as exchangeable batteries. It’s still splash resistant tho. I love knowing neither google nor apple are tracking me and supporting open source software monetarily. It works a bit different from stock android but its nice to use. I also like how they have long software support and care about where their parts are sourced. For their performance they might be a bit pricy but it aligns with my ideals so I support it.

The gender star is anything but gender neutral. It highlight the different genders artificially and still makes the female variant of the word the second choice by separating it like this /* This differentiates it from the default general masculine word which is supposed to include everybody and further strengthens the image of the man as the default in a certain job. I’m sorry but I strongly disagree with you on this one.

And for non-Native german speakers, if this sounds confusing that is because it is!

  • I think it just makes the german language ugly and still keeps the female version of a word as a second choice. Grammatically speaking I believe just common masculine version of a word which is supposed to speak for everyone involved just makes more sense. If we want gender equality we shouldn’t highlight the different genders more and make the female version the second choice, but thats just my opinion

  • Honestly, when a road is closed for a weekend at irregular intervals without a schedule in advance its not reasonable to map it. I contribute to OSM from time to time and thought about it as well but the general consensus is to map regular closures or road closures that go on for like more than a month. OSM is a general purpose map and not for mapping road closures as current data will be used long after now on offline navigation gps devices. We would probably need an open street closure map that aggregates all the databases for road closures and interact with osm. For the major ones I know I’ve just been blocking what I know locally to not route through it, as I can’t be bothered in starting a project like that
