  • Do you use synthetic, cotton, or wool socks?

Wool socks help with odor control because of how they wick away moisture and although they advertise synthetic socks also being good at that they tend to get the stinky funk going on. Cotton just holds moisture and gets stinky too, but somewhere between the two.

If nothing else has helped and you are not already wearing wool socks, I would give that a try. A lot of brands do a blend of wool and synthetic so they might end up being stinkier than 100% wool. Wool is expensive, but holds up really well and is totally worth it.

  • It’s funny people talking about how things are done in the U.S. and giving different answers.

Yeah, different states have different requirements and processes.

In Kansas, when I got my original license in the 90s it cost like $60 total to get the first one and ever since it has been somewhere between 10-30 or so to renew every 6ish years or something. Originally you had to take a written test that you could fill in at home. Just ridiculously cheap and no real barriers. We also don’t have any kind of emissions requirements for non-commercial vehicles. The lax requirements for driving and emissions is probably the result of the farming lobby.

  • This is not helpful in the sense that it adds another thing to worry about, but for me it was very helpful in the sense that I could actually forget about my performance and not worry about it anymore, and replace it with that other thing. And once I had figured out how to act confident in face of my mistakes, even that went away.

I can confirm this works too! Fake it till you make it really does work because it is basically practice.
