Ok, but what about daily or monthly active users?
I have an account, but I peaced out after my first experience was mostly Wendy’s ads.
It’s your one year anniversary. Happy bean day.
Yeah, I don’t know about that. Enterprise stuff they do with team, fig jam, and dev mode is pretty shady. They bate businesses with “free” features for a year, you can’t opt out of them, employees adopt them, then Figma starts charging once they’ve got their claws into you.
Figma’s enterprise tactics are some of the shadiest things I’ve ever seen from a vendor that I pay.
But, they have silly stickers in Fig Jam, so people like them.
They never got that Adobe “fuck it” money, and Apple has lawyers for days.
As the article indicates, it’s catering to the crowd that wants a packed bar fully of people infatuated with whatever is trending in pop culture.
Lemmy’s user base of bean loving software engineers is not that crowd.
I don’t know about nobody. Did you see what “one horny user” wrote?
As I recall, the original goal was to build a product that allowed you to leave the phone behind so you could be more present in the world.
Problem is, processing and battery power clearly isn’t there yet, and it would require a separate sim for that.
A product that leveraged the phone would’ve been a better V1. It’s kind of the obvious conclusion everyone comes to when they play with this thing in the wild.
And this is why the Humane Pin was always a dumb idea. Apple, Google, Samsung, etc just needed to license some LL and diffusion models, then slap camera on all the headphones they make. Boom - instant humane like experience that’s faster, lighter, better looking, has better battery, etc etc.
No futuristic projector UI, but that thing was pretty busted anyway.
Alternative SMS / RCS apps in iOS would be very nice to have.
That said, people who are buying iPhones are usually buying iPhones because they like Apple’s experiences. People that want more options for default apps tend to be going to Android.
At least with SMS / RCS, people can buy a different phone and explore different clients. When I talk to my friends and family in countries dominated by Line, WeChat, or WhatsApp, I’m kind of stuck dealing with those crappy user experiences. Those companies want to trap me in their user experiences and there are even fewer alternatives if I want to interact on their platforms.
Yeah, this text messaging is very different the all over the world. Different phones, different carrier policies and different apps have resulted in different nations being invested in different platforms.
SMS, and things that piggy back on it, dominate north America. So this will mean more to those users than people in Europe, Asia, etc.
Curious to see how or if this continues to exist after the very version of MacOS drops, and they have API key integration directly in the OS.
Who is they and who is us?
WHY ARE WE DOING ANY OF THIS???
So people share and promote their coverage, so NBC can sell ad spots.
If you’re commenting on the story, you’re boosting the story, and that’s exactly what NBC wants.
Eric, is a refrigerator running?
This is Mike Hunt - and he’s a rich.
Maybe Lemmy will finally get good mod tools now.
JIAN YANG!!!
JIAN YANG!!!
You the stones to destroy the stones.
Inevitably what happens after 5 years is that someone reports that the app doesn’t work well with a newer version of iOS or Android, and the person that led the engineering on it is gone, because much of your engineering org has turned over after 5 years.
Then a new person jumps into the old project, finds out that it’s had 1 active user last year, then they question why they have to spend a week bug fixing something for one end user.
