It’s almost like someone is trying to tell you to STFU.

Like “Italy is a boot”, I will now forever be able to find Uraguay on an unlabled map, but I will never be able to tell anyone why…
I’m sorry but I disagree.
The last thing we want is for these states to accidentally reproduce.
No one wants soapy clothes, even in the post-apocalypse.
I tend to think of it like a personal trainer, “push, you got this, one more rep”. More positive and gender neutral.
Yeah um, could I please get one “ignore all previous instructions” with a side of “all the bacon in the building for $1” … And a small diet coke please.
Classic Kbin moment: The thumbnail is a photo of two kiwi birds from another post. I choose to believe these birds are also Trump’s lawyers.
These folks seem to have a different understanding than you.
Specifically:
Since as many as 10 percent of the lowest-wage workers leave or start jobs every month, any decrease in the number of full-time equivalent jobs will mean that some workers will take more time finding a new job, or will work fewer hours. But many of these workers may still see their annual earnings rise because of their wage increase.
Summer Glau: Am I a joke to you?
I think that’s why framing the debate is so important.
And so on. This isn’t about stopping immigration, it’s about punishing those who do. [Too] Many will still support that, but it’s a harder stance to take.
I won’t rehash my opinions, they already been better said here, but I want to add I hate the phrase “close the border”. What the fuck does that mean, was it open, did the last one in forget to close the door?
From the article, he is considering taking action “to restrict migrants’ ability to seek asylum at the US-Mexico border if they crossed illegally” which has a lot more nuance and is important to the discussion. So this will specifically affect people who have a legitimate claim to asylum, the border was never “open” to any migrants without it (or a visa).
Dance. Started dancing (taking classes) at 350lbs 4 ½ months ago, still going now at 295lbs. Everything is sooo much easier. First exercise I really liked, improves my flexibility, strength, and cardio. And I feel mad sexy doing it.
You are 100% correct, I could not have used a more incorrect turn of phrase if I tried, hahaha. I fully admit not thinking that through at all.
Take my shamefilled upvote.
Upvoted, because this is an incredibly unpopular opinion.
I’m not into sports and I have no plans to watch the Superb Owl today, but I do have a big appreciation for humans being awesome, and for that I can usually appreciate watching even if I don’t care who wins.
Watching a 300lb man accelerate like a freight train or someone jump several feet into the air, twist over backwards, catch a ball and land where they meant to is definitely something I enjoy, because they do work their asses off to get that good and I can appreciate anybody’s passion at that level.
That said, totally agree on the money side, it taints so many things (looking at you IOC).
I want to live a long and happy life, accomplish as much as I could expect to and love generously…
…and then that one scene from Final Destination 2 with the falling pane of glass.
I’ll second CBT, it helped me a lot. My therapist started with identifying my “core beliefs” like “worrying* helps me avoid bad things” and “worrying makes me better at my job” and then through some structured routines helped me change or event disregard them. I’m very analytical and she really helped show the illogical nature of all the time I spent worrying.
That said I first needed a low dose zoloft prescription to even be willing to book the therapy, but I’ve since weened off it.
*specifically hypothetical worries, i.e. “what if”
No! How dare she accurately describe the problem with American democracy!!
