Password hashing has been standard practice far longer than Facebook has existed. Even by 2004’s awful, ‘archaic’ standards.

Yeah there’s way easier ways to combat that without trying to prevent scraping.
Maybe don’t ship 20 units to the same address.
NIST are bureaucrats sure, but bureaucrats with lots and lots of practical experience.
Like I said I very seriously doubt the guy was doing it because he had to, but there are cases where animals need to be put down.
12-gauges are a lot quicker and less painful than dying to rabies. Also I imagine that has more to do with the municipality, and how rural of an area you live in.

I have no issue when its marked, or put on a site like alibaba where there are tons of cheap shit for the cost you’d expect from a cheap repro.
Putting it on eBay for full price is a dick move.
police where not responsive
Either way a shovel is a pretty fucked way to do that. Also yeah bragging about it is fucking weird and gross, if I had to kill a dog out of defense I would probably not want to think about it again. Sounds pretty awful.
$10 says ‘self-defense’ was an excuse and the poor thing was just dropping dukes in his yard or something like that.
This comment fucking blows, I abhore comments that start with ‘i’.
If the people who produce videos don’t stop, there isn’t much of an alternative other than abstinence.
At which point, what’s the benefit over using a mirror like invidious which gives you your video, uses up resources of the people you don’t like, and doesn’t harvest your data?
I wouldn’t use the actual YouTube site, or software clients. But open source mirror/alt clients like invidious, yt-dlp, or newpipe seem like a workable alternative.
Until people who make videos move the fuck over, most of my subscriptions in newpipe will continue to be YouTube accounts, and not channels hosted on a peertube instance.
Luckily newpipe works with both… For now.
Well that’s an assumption…
Also what’s the point of being anti-ai when you’re already anti-cpyright?
The issue isn’t generative AI, its capitalism. The AI just makes capitalism’s bad parts more efficient, or is at least supposed to.
Next time use matrix.
Unfortunately you’re kind of stuck if what you want to watch is only being uploaded there. That’s why these alternatives exist. So you can watch their shit without contributing back to the site.
As someone who uses invidious daily I’ve always been of the belief if you don’t want something scraped, then maybe don’t upload it to a public web page/server.
Oof that’s a typo, yeah meant years. Sorry bud.
Then maybe they shouldn’t be such a good testbed for western weapon systems?
Works for Albania.
Its not like google fucking earned that money anyways. You don’t earn billions of dollars.
Think about it. If you earned a million dollars a year, you’d be set for life. If you lived for a full hundred years you’d have only made 1/10th of a billion dollars. Despite the fact that its still more money than either of us will probably ever see.
The people who operate google have billions with an s at the end. Think about the hardest working person you’ve known. Think about how little money they made.
Now ask yourself, what did the people with billions do to earn that money? How hard did they have to work to justify it, and how is that level of work even humanly possible? How would a bunch of spoiled overgrown trustfund fratboys find it in themselves do that work?
They fucking don’t. The only people who get that rich do it by cheating, and stealing, and fucking people over. Those fuckers owe us a lot more than video streaming services.
I remember the summer that came out. I was like 14/15. I had just built my first PC that Christmas, an fx6300/r9 270x build.
That alpha ran great on it, coming off of playing ut99 on shitty integrated graphics, the game looked fucking awesome.
Between that and the first Titanfall it was a good time for great shooters that would eventually be abandoned.
Jesus I sound like all the old farts who where reminiscing about ut99 at the time.
Or Bioware
Or Westwood
Or DICE
Or DreamWorks Interactive
Or Respawn Entertainment
Or …
Fix the Mac mirroring mode to allow floating windows/multiple displays, and make a cost reduced version that still has good resolution and is around the same price as two high-end monitors.
You could improve your desktop setup, and take your monitors with you on the go. I think there’s a good usecase there. They just have to figure it out.
Personally I’m more interested to see what happens with Valve Deckard.
