It’s funny because back in the day the lack of support for amd is what made me choose to go nvidia in the future. Maybe the pendulum will swing back who knows? Kind of surprising it’s not well supported given the popularity / importance of cuda.

I thought maybe I was misremembering the numlock thing so I looked it up and found a mention in someone’s user manual! See top of page 8here
Maybe a bit niche, but the Scanco software for computed tomography analysis. Cant remember what it’s called off the top of my head. It’s horribly dated and unintuitive. It does work though! My favorite was when we stopped being able to use it for several weeks, we thought it was busted. We contacted the company for help and they informed us that with a new update the numlock key toggled a “feature” that prevented editing files. No visual representation that editing was locked. Wild
Sas is awful but I will say doing mixed linear models and doing contrasts was pretty easy compared to r.
Red currants :)
Edit - apparently they are black currants. Still tasty!
I think one of the benefits would be less war since every citizen would be personally affected by it. Also all the public works and infrastructure. And healthcare. It could be great! Maybe it would help with all the “lonely men” culture that we hear so much about, and likely plays into some of the gun culture. I guess we’ll never know since that won’t happen here, though.
Mandatory conscription is probably my most “out there” political belief. I think the benefits would be vast! I don’t think it would prevent mass shootings in America, though.
This was nearly a decade ago. I worked at a small app company (5-10 developers) for a bit that used Ruby on Rails for our product. The product was in active development, but was available to customers so it was “done”. We were hiring a senior level dev to oversee the team and we interviewed this guy (maybe in his 40s?, a but older than most people in tech) and he said his first order of business if hired would be to refactor the entire code base to php. I don’t think he was joking. I’m not sure why he interviewed.
I came here to write the same thing. Why do they do that?
Pubmed or web of science
The Macintosh at my school back in the day used to say - over the speaker - “it’s not my fault” when it crashed. We kids always thought it was hilarious.
I used to work at a small tech company (5-10 employees) and when we hired for entry level coders we’d receive hundreds of applications. Most of them would be grads from bootcamps, some with undergraduate degrees and some without. My boss would just throw out any that didn’t have a bs in something, but preferred a stem degree. He knew they didn’t need a degree, he knew you didn’t need actual coding experience, it was just a quick (maybe illegal) way to make that list of applications more manageable.
That may be intentional. I know they want ai companies to have to pay to train on all that human written conversation. Right now it can be searched and accessed on google cache.
I have the opposite problem on iOS. Every time I try to search for something it.comes.out.like.this and then takes me to a website that doesn’t exist. So frustrating!
They’d also dilute them in water and drink progressively less dilute solutions. Also, as other people mentioned, notice what other bugs and animals are eating.
I’ve never seen anything as extreme as you describe, but when I took the GRE I met a guy kind of like this. After you finish the exam it gives you an estimate of your score, but your real scores are sent to you weeks later. On the way out some guy asked me how I did (fairly well but not 97% plus on anything). He was like “oh damn if you don’t get above 95% on math then you can’t go to grad school in STEM lol”. I asked him what he got in the reading and writing and he said <33% “but that isn’t important for grad school” lmao
“Boner” is a clumsy error
