Holy shit I listed the wrong site, my bad, it’s Pet Rescue not Lost Dogs Home that was the one I looked at after.

Sometimes I like to go look at animal adoption sites, I like finding the animal with the silliest name and photo. Today I thought I’d look at the Pet Rescue which is not my usual place to look, and WTF is with their adoption fees! Maybe I’m being unreasonable but up to $1.5k to adopt a dog… There were 400+ listed in VIC alone, and I can kind of understand why! For that much you could go get a brand new puppy sans all the issues that come with adopting a potentially mistreated dog.

I get it’s probably to deter people from making rash decisions, also folks who can afford to drop that much can also probably afford to care for the dog, and making sure that the dog goes to a good home, but it just seems insane to me.

I learnt French from someone who is from the south of France (Toulouse, IIRC), so the harsh accent is super noticeable to me, it’s sort of strange.

My sister who speaks Latin Spanish has said she has a slightly similar issue with European Spanish, especially if they start talking fast, use slang or even certain expressions.

Oh no, I have a family friend with a similar story. She was raised in Ontario by French Canadian parents, and when she was a teen they went on holiday to France (Paris), and for some reason she didn’t think and started speaking French Canadian only to be told by a Parisian woman that she sounded “ugly”.

I think I’ve found the weirdest Sci-Fi film I’ve watched in a very long time!

It’s called Mars et Avril (Mars and April) and I’ve had to pause it a few times just to regain some perspective (sanity). The soundtrack, styling, acting, and all that business is top notch, but holy batman the storyline is wild.

I’m just about to finish it and I kind of want to rewatch it, but I think I need a few business days to reboot.

Side note - As someone who took French for a few years listening to Canadian French is strange, like my brain semi (very semi) gets the jist, but it just won’t process it.

Thankfully I work in a place that’s a little more relaxed about that stuff. We only need to provide one if we have more than three days off.

Housemate and I both just called it in (a very rare occurence), the air in our house is like wading through soup, it’s disgusting and no one has slept. I see a day of crankiness, attempted naps, and maybe some blow up pool action.

I don’t often get into debates about gossip, but when someone says a female actor/director/writer/artist is toxic, I’m always like were they actually a shit human or did they simply ask for the same respect their male colleague/s were getting or potentially did they even just act like a human being for five seconds.

LMAO back in my “stoner” days I definitely remember that scene giving me a right chuckle.

This just gave me the mini butt kick to get rid of my Switch! Also, was definitely not into it as much as I thought I would be considering I’ve owned a fair few Nintendo handhelds, I kinda blame game prices.

Pretty sure I had the same thought I’m having now when I first watched that scene, those shoes would now been making her feet sit at some wild angles.

This show is about doctors in a “jungle”, so them touching everything is extra hilarious! Especially since in the first episode one of the conventionally pretty doctors goes “oh I specialise in infectious diseases”.

Edit - a word. I can assure you the tv doctors are not juggling.

Watching some telly before I get a little rowdy tonight, and one of my favourite costuming tropes is when a character out of their depth goes to the tropics/a hot place (it doesnt matter what they’re there for) they must have a huge hiking pack paired with some sort of plaid shirt and singlet, for men you can throw in a henley, for women it must be a skin tight spaghetti strap singlet.

Bonus points for inappropriate footwear, khaki cargo shorts (cargo booty shorts of the ladies), some sort of head wrap, they gain a collection of “handcrafted” bracelets during their tropical/hot place adventure.
