  • Talk about a job stretching out and out and out.

I found an article from 2017 that the line was meant to operational by mid 2020. Now they are saying October 2025? The bit that’s taking the longest is the bit where they are using the existing track that isn’t getting replaced? The bit where they are just retrofitting existing stations. Is there something I’m missing here?

Another article from metro themselves in 2018 says that the line will need 3 to 6 months of closures to get the work done. Instead of closing it in one period it will done in a program of shorter closures. And the line is to be operating by 2024.

Now on top of all the closures that have been done to accomodate the 3 to 6 months they said before, they need an entire 12 months extra?

  • Saw an ad on Facebook for a ranger the other day, 2 years old 21k km, description read never been off-road, mainly used to go from home to the office. Was selling to upgrade to the new model.

Also I don’t believe these fancier utes are very suitable for actual work, to much precious body work and paint around the bed of the truck. We have some single cab utes at work, and what gets put on the tray I wouldn’t want to be doing on anything I cared about the looks of. Also the height to get to some of the trays is ridiculous.

  • Sydney road local here. On the weekend we try to avoid going near Sydney road outside of direct walking distance as it’s miserable to drive, walk, cycle or catch a tram.

The trams are so slow due to cars, which causes them to be over capacity due to the infrequency of them turning up.

It is unsafe to ride a bike as you’ll get doored or you’ll get swiped by a cars changing lanes without looking.

Walking isn’t the most pleasant due to the amount of traffic on the road (noise and air pollution ect).

I shouldn’t be required to drive to go to a business 1.5km down the road.

When you are choosing a couple car spots over the business of your local communities you’re already losing.
