You seem confused. The point of it isn’t to give a fully accurate explanation of a person’s views on every topic. It’s to give somebody a general idea.

Plus, someone can say they are for something, but actually not support it in reality.

All political measurements fall victim to that. It’s a moot point. But just because some people are like that doesn’t mean everyone is.

Not completely. If two people occupy a similar space, it means they agreed on something. That is meaningful. It’s vague, sure. But it isn’t completely random nonsense like astrology.

It’s definitely a terrible system, and there are better ones out there like 10Groups. But astrology is completely meaningless. The PCT at least tells you a vague (terrible, yes), but somewhat meaningful direction in which you believe.

For example, I know that since I’m libertarian left on the PCT, that I’m going to disagree with 90% of the things somebody who’s authoritarian right on the PCT believes.

Astrology doesn’t have that ability to reliably compare, since it is literally and completely meaningless.

But again, shit like 10Groups is better and everybody should switch to measures that have more than 2 axis.

An easier approach would be to turn every apartment building into a housing co-op.

If you can build the political will to steamroll the NIMBYs, I’m all for it.

Any solution to the housing crisis necessarily would require the political will to do that. There’s no getting around it.

But yeah, I think we more or less reached a point of agreement. We need to change the culture, it must become more collectivist. We gotta finally start caring for one another.

And since taxing at higher rates would deter people from building more rental properties, the housing shortage would get worse.

Housing is a public good and should be funded as such.

A land value tax would be a good idea as well, especially if its the main form of tax collection. Each successive property would automatically, drastically increase the cost.

It would become a defacto tax on the rich, while helping to prevent hoarding. Two birds one stone.

• Corps and foreign investors shouldn’t be able to own housing (multi unit should be co-op/market rate nonprofits)

• Individuals should not be able to own more than 5 homes. (The number is semi arbitrary, but at a certain point it is very clearly hoarding, and therefore shouldn’t be allowed)

• AirBNB and similar should be heavily regulated. (They turn permanent residences into short term, which reduces capacity, and drives up prices all around)

• Shift to a land value tax system as the primary means of tax collection. What few landlords/scalpers exist after the above changes will have even less room to breathe. And it would punish vacancy, which would put pressure to keep as much housing available as possible.

There may need to be some exceptions. But if changes like this were to occur, we wouldn’t have this problem.

This is exactly the thing I’ve been looking for. It saves everything as a sqlite db, and has csv export options. So you’re not fucked over if you need to switch to something else. It’s compatible for linux/windows.

And the import options seem pretty good too.

A dual USB C/USB A drive is always nice.

It makes transferring files from phone to phone or from phone to PC significantly nicer.

I’m sure you’re already loaded up with a backlog of recommendations and games you bought but haven’t yet touched. But I’d highly recommend FTL: Faster Than Light, as well as Into The Breach. They’re both from the same publisher, and are both amazing games that arguably are a defining feature of modern gaming.

I will admit I’m making some strong, harsh statements. But I think that’s a pretty natural result of living in the U.S., a country who’s cops operate closer to a gang than Rescue Heroes. They kill minorities with virtual immunity. They racially profile people. The list goes on.

Somebody who intentionally joins a group like that does not have good intentions, or is ok with their buddies not having good intentions, or gets kicked out quickly for tattling on their fellow cops. So yeah, cops are never on your side, at least not here.

But if a police officer were to remove your phone by force, first it would be illegal without a warrant so it would almost made you a favour as all evidence in your phone would be invalid in court.

Even if what they find on your phone isn’t valid in court, it can still lead them to other things that are valid. For instance, a picture taken at a specific place with a timestamp. That picture may not be admissible, but if they find CCTV footage of you at that time and place, you’re screwed.

Cops can and will overreach their powers, and they’ll probably get away with it.

Even locked if they want the info in your phone they are probably getting it. They would have access to some of the best forensics teams and equipment.

Sure, but it’s a lot harder for them if your phone is encrypted and shut off before you encounter them.

Back in the day, there were cheats in computer magazines, a sequence of key presses that would give you loads of lives or money or bullets or whatever. I used those an loved em.

I still use those for my Nintendo DS. My dad had an extension card for his Sega genesis that did the same.

Cheats like that are as old as games themselves, and they’re not going to be going anywhere any time soon.

It’s just that now we have online versions, and if you’re on PC you can edit any memory address you like, directly, with any value you like.
