As somebody who has to work with deploying this software for consultants that use W365 Cloud PCs, fuck this name. If there is an error or an issue with it, good fucking luck trying to Google a solution because searching for “Windows App Error” gets you nowhere fucking useful.
No, they should be required to pay taxes equivelant to what they subtracted when they removed a tax-paying worker. All of those taxes should go towards UBI.
Good lord. I worked in hospital IT for about 6 years and I absolutely hated WOWs. By far my least favorite thing to work on. I spent too many hours sitting on the floor swapping batteries out of those things.
Funny story it reminded me of though is that the Hospital I worked at was in a city starting with the letter S. So the acronym for the hospital was SH. So all of IT was referred to as IS (Information services) because we didn’t want to be the SHIT department.
Did you know that if you took a blue whale and laid it lengthwise across a basketball court, the game would be canceled?
I watched a video earlier of a robot hot dog machine fucking up monumentally while trying to dispense a hot dog, and then I watched this video and man, it really is going to be a long time before we have to worry about robots taking all the jobs.
Wtf is that image?
Pornography was doing a fine job of that. Naked deep fakes of actual people who are actual minors should not be desensitized.
Wife and I bought an apartment in April 2018, great deal, great rates.
The we had a kid in 2023.
We have a second coming in 2025
We need to buy a house, and have no idea how the fuck we are going to make it happen. We’re not even that bad off, we both do pretty damn well, but we are about to be facing $4k/month in childcare, and even with the huge pile of down payment money we have saved, we wouldn’t be able to afford the mortgage.
We still own our apartment though, which is better than renting. I keep telling myself “We will figure it out, people have done more with less”, but man… If this was like 5 or 6 years ago we would have been living large.
I always look at things like these and are tempted to buy them. There is so much cool audio gear out there that I feel like could “up my game”, but then I realize I have no game and already own a bunch of fun production gear that collects dust because I don’t have the time or energy to make music anymore.
I considered selling some of my stuff, but want to hang on to it just in case any of my kids pick up the hobby and all my stuff is cool and “retro” at that point. Shit it is almost already cool and retro - Akai MPC1000, Korg Electribe SX ESX1, Korg KP3, Dsi MoPho, a couple other bits and bobs.
But yeah, always tempted to buy cool new awesome shit that I would never use.
Honestly wouldn’t even be that difficult to build. Windows is just a GUI for Powershell anyway.
Damn… Now I want new gear.
Also “I ride almost exclusively in the midwest US, so hard, rough, icy conditions that most people wouldn’t consider snowboarding in are the every day” - I’m in the northeast, so I am very familiar with ice boarding, so I’m sold.
Damn… I still snowboard in my gear that is over 20 years old. Has it really changed that much? I only go a few times a year so I never wanted to spend the money on new stuff. Lift tickets already cost an arm and a leg.
Is there a simple way to find out if your Information was in this leak, and what information it is? I use haveibeenpwned for leaks linked to my email address, but from I read in this article, it’s not linked to my email address.
So how do I found out if my data was leaked without paying for a credit monitoring service?
Republicons are upset that people are calling them weird, and then continue to do the weirdest fucking shit.

And if I understand correctly, they are safer because there is less chance of parts touching inside. I don’t know the correct t terminology, but one of the big problems with current li-ion batteries is that if they get physically damaged, parts inside can touch, which basically starts a short/chain reaction that turns into a dangerous thermal runaway.
Also if I remember correctly the guy that invented li-ion invented some kind of solid state battery with glass right before he died. I’m assuming this technology stems from that.
Please correct me if I’m wrong on any of this. Knowledge is power.
Yup. As much as I hate the GOP and Trump, this is a pretty big Occam’s razor moment.
No no no. White cows make milk. Brown cows make chocolate milk.
Yeah, my understanding is that these capchas were made to harvest data to use for AI/Autopilot driven cars. That’s why they are always having you identify motorcycles, bycicles, crosswalks, stoplights, busses, etc. It’s all stuff that automatic driving cars have had a hard time identifying.
