Goodness gracious they must have great balls of fire to have done this.
But what if it was trained on covers?
Grexit when
I use Linux and only install software from the official distro repository + verified flatpaks. No av, no worries.
Not open source but DaVinci Resolve is the best editor around and supports Linux.
Nothing major. In my country when people are fired they are entitled to recieve some money based on how long they’ve been an employee. One time I overpaid a dude who was fired by some 5k USD or so (converting from my local currency) which is nothing major but my boss was pissed. Luckly I just called him and asked him nicely to return the extra money and he did without being rude or anything.
Edit: just as a comparison at the same company once one of our (corporate) clients sent us the payment for a service twice by mistake, some ~200k USD that they had to pay 1x we ended up recieving twice. By comparison 5k is nothing.
It is a good stand from google but…
In the end it was all censored, since google wasn’t even there anymore, and China was left with a huge market opportunity for their own internal companies to serve their internal market instead of a foreign company. The Chinese people ended up worse off, Google ended up worse off, Chinese censorship won, Chinese tech companies won.
So still sucks either way. With firefox not being banned Russians can still load up the extensions, just have to get them from other sources.
If you bought photoshop back when it was not subscription and Adobe did not inform you that your license had an expiration date you can in fact do whatever the duck you want to it because you purchased it, you did not rent it, you did not subscribe. You purchased it and it is yours for life.
Matter of fact you have no idea if what you are suggesting would fly in court because I am pretty sure you don’t know about any previous case like this that has been even tried in court.
Man do you know how many instances exist? I hate this idea of trying to coordinate defederation across all bigger instances all at once. You have the option of migrating to an instance which is already defederated from them, or hosting your own instance and defederating from whoever you want. You can also mute them. Don’t come to a decentralized network with the expectation of imposing centralized decision making behaviour?
This is the fediverse and that is their instance. You just move to another instance and mute them if you are desatisfied with them.
People online sometimes get mad at me when I say I don’t want windows users to move to Linux, I don’t want Linux to be popular at all. I enjoy being a Linux home user who knows the community is small enough to not draw the wrong kind of attention from bad actors and corporations.
Anyway, I enjoy seeing windows users get shit shoved down their throats like this, it is amusing and I can’t wait to see what Microsoft is gonna do next while most of their user base just accepts it or cries online only to continue on windows.
See you all in the Solaris community

I’ll use this as my credentials
This is happening to me, on a minority of videos I click on, sometimes the video will start at random places midway through and even close to the end. Most times it doesn’t happen tho (I am aware the videos start playing on the home/search page now, this isn’t it).
I am using youtube premium tho, no adblock just their official app with premium on my phone. This problem started like one or two weeks ago max.
Idk, where there is potential for data mining and money there is a will and a way.
I am worried about stuff that is widespread like systemd, KDE, GNOME, flatpak, a bunch of stuff which is mantained by companies like redhat and canonical, etc. I also worry stuff like what was attempted with the XZ backdoor becomes more common.
We can always hop to other distros but if the high level polished stuff that we’ve taken a long time to achieve gets compromised these safer distros may end up being a worse experience and set us back years or decades.
I think I am fine with home use Linux growing a little bit, maybe if we get just under 10% or so that can be good in terms of software availability and just more people working on open source projects. Too much popularity idk, I am not onboard with that rn.
I think I don’t even want Linux to become too popular. It will attract the wrong kind of attention. First, being more targeted by attackers it may become less safe. Most importantly, I don’t even know how but I know that if Linux becomes a huge market for home users, corporations will look at it and go “uh, big market sitting there let’s monetize it” and there is absolutely no way Linux won’t become shittier in more ways than one when thousands of big corporations out there are trying to get their hands on Linux users and our data in multiple different ways. Again, I don’t know how it will happen but I don’t like having this kind of attention on Linux.
We could end up engineering birth marks with arbitrary shapes like the Nike logo which may be passed on to offspring
Since when are uplifting memes a thing? Which version of the internet did I end up in by mistake?
Great idea. We can also set a timer for the wifi on your phone to be disconnected automatically and you have to watch an ad before the time runs out to postphone it.
One ad break between each floor or pay for direct lift that is a killer idea.
Thanks, not this in specific but it was something related to not shuting down properly. I powered off from windows by holding the off button instead of clicking on shutdown (I was afraid windows would want to install updates b/c I didn’t use it for so long). So I booted windows again and turned it off properly then Debian came back to life.
