That’s the thing. They drive “aggressively” (or poorly) because they need to make money. If they’re going to take it away (as well as institute modernization that eats more into those earnings), they need to replace it with a system that guarantees it’s going to make as much.
That’s ultimately the crux as to why they’re against modernization - the government isn’t really doing anything to address those concerns. Willy nilly implementation lang, bahala kayo sa buhay nyo.
I definitely agree that a sustainable living wage is needed. The person you’re commenting on states that it would be ideal if the modern jeeps were more heavily subsidized, through PPPs or whatever method to lower the cost for the drivers. Though personally, I think it should be nationalized.
