I have an older model MBP (2009 era) that’s still running great with Linux. No hardware or software complaints. I installed a new battery in it about a year ago and it’s time for a new calibration, I think. What are some tips to fully optimize the life of the battery?
I do primarily use it plugged in but I want to get in the habit of running off battery and letting it drain and recharge more often. Don’t want to have to go through the trouble of replacing another one.
The unfortunate truth is that your probably only going to get 2 years at max capacity, and about 6 years total out of a battery. Any more than that you should consider yourself on borrowed time.
