Real talk though, it’s because your brain can’t tell the difference between dream movements and real life movements. Basically, it’s to prevent you from actually punching whatever you’re laying next to. Your brain has a few methods to stop this, but the last resort is simply that your brain stops you from making any fast/forceful movements in dreams. Because the alternative is that you’d potentially punch your partner laying in bed next to you.
My brain has a syntax error in the code because I have kicked and punched people and objects in my sleep.
I also wake up singing or laughing or crying or screaming, sometimes.
When I was a kid I figured out that I made a specific motion in my dreams to fly. And so I learned to fly in my dreams.
Dreams are weird.
For me the motion is just start swimming in the air. However I have to know that it’s a dream or I won’t have the confidence and fall face first into the ground.
Dreams truly are weird
I don’t get how there’s people that can’t do certain things in dreams, I can punch, run and all that
I read the other comment before mine and it makes sense but on the other hand a dream is just your imagination right? I can imagine myself punching someone without actually punching them
For me I can punch but it is like getting hit with a wet noodle. I can also run and fly if I find out I am in a dream, usually by talking to another person because I feel like I am talking to myself.
I dont even remember my dreams and the few times I do it feels like a deja vu afterwards. I guess this either means that I have no imagination or that my memory is so shitty that I forget my dreams instantly, Im not quite sure which is more probable.
Yeah that’s common, I remember a very small number of my dreams and even when I do I don’t remember the full dream! So don’t worry, that’s normal :>
it’s funny a couple times now I’ve used my edc flashlight in my dreams only for it to be dim and flickery, why even bother carrying it around every day
