I’m assuming if I do that I would lose the s pen features right? I use that a bit

I haven’t flashed custom firmware in a while so I’m just curious if there are all that many benefits these days. I’m sure I would get better performance on it and definitely longer software support.

How much of a performance boost do you think I would get by using lineage? I feel like Samsungs OS is too chunky for this not top tier tablet

No clue about the s pen. However, I’ve been using Cyanogenmod/Lineage Since the Samsung S2 (yep, that old thing) and use it on Tab S2, S2ve, S5e and Nokia 6.1. The last 2 have Lineage 20 running, runs smoothly, as you get rid of tons of Samsung/Nokia junk.

The Tab S2ve is finally to slow to run the worst written games (CSR2), but works perfect for everything else. (Even an old Tab 3 and Tab 4 run nicely with it, when you’re not running resource hungry games)

Longer software support is almost an assurance, as Samsung quits pretty fast. It just depends on the devs, the 2011 S2 (i9100) is getting Lineage 20 as well. It’s all about what the devs can do. (have hardware for)

I am using a Galaxy Tab A from 2016 and the performance is great on lineage. It’s definitely better than stock rom

My wife had the exact same issues, so we flashed crDroid. She doesn’t use the pen much, but it works same as before, OS is much, much smoother.
