I tried the Gesha since it was roasted a bit ago, and boy, the dry beans have some wild smells, including some weird cheesy ones. The beverage is less out there, quite fruity and sweet, but did still have some quite unusual flavors that I struggled to place, like there’s something there that I was perceiving as almost camphorous, kind of? I don’t actually think that’s accurate, but that’s how it was hitting me.
It’s good, but I have to say, I’m not sure the Gesha coffees I’ve tried so far entirely live up to the hype that folks put on that varietal.
