I don’t know why people mention spore. It only has some similarities with its first stage. Thrive is never gonna be “from puddle to space adventures”-type of game.

Gameplay is split into seven stages – Microbe, Multicellular, Aware, Awakening, Society, Industrial and Space.
Got it on my wishlist for a long time but it doesn’t seem to offer much, not even for its 4 bucks. And there’s not really any decent gameplay videos out there either.
