Just left Chicago and it was a god damn nightmare to park. The first 4 parking lot/garage had height limits that were equal to or less than my truck. I really wanted my Jetta back at that moment.
Good. There’s not enough space to accommodate these vehicles in Chicago. It shouldn’t be convenient to drive them there. Sorry that that falls on you but it’s necessary for the city to improve from the disastrous conditions that exist today.
No need to apologize. I didn’t want to drive the truck there, but it’s the only vehicle I have. We did go into Chicago for a few days and left the truck parked the entire time. Took the train and walked. I loved it.
Cool! Glad it worked out! I think ideally this is the way cities should work in the US. Ample parking at the fringe and great transit options to enter and move about the city center.

One thing I would like to add would be active security if someone is to leave their car that far away for stents of time.
