The threat to suspend the Camp David Accords came after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said sending troops into Rafah was necessary to win the war against Hamas.
Potentially yes, Hamas has refused the last few ceasefire offers tabled by Egypt and Qatar however so Israel isn’t being left with options other than militarily recovering their people. The option to stop fighting is not a reasonable one given Hamas clear position that they intend to attack again…and again.
I mean… Israel isn’t exactly accepting the offers made by the other side to stop the fighting and get their people back. They seem more intent on committing a couple of war crimes.
Diplomacy has resulted in the release of more hostages than military action has. Just saying.
