Yeah, imo it’s pretty clear on the show (and Brumm has said it explicitly), but some people are trying to find something that isn’t there and going off the deep end.
Like the whole archaeologist/smuggling theory is just a bit of fun about something that doesn’t impact the show. We all know it’s silly. But “bingo has a different mother” is something way too impactful.
