According to the manual, you can do PC connection using Bluetooth, so give that a try. I found a teardown video and at least the top side of the PCB connector doesn’t have too many connection points. Some high quality pictures of both sides could help identify the likely pinout, and a breakout board would confirm. I would give Bluetooth a shot first.

Not sure why I’m being downvoted. If your only other option is desolder the NAND chips, you can build a cable for probably $10 in parts. Ask me how I know. That shit is easy. Get you a breakout board and find the connector or a close enough one that you can solder or crimp and get to it.

Way easier and less work than messing with the board level components, FFS people.

There are also people who will build you one as a service if it is beyond you.

I use docker container on Linux and Roku app. Works very well. Except when db file is on NFSv4, then the server crashes periodically.

The Apple TV app needs an overhaul, and the SenPlayer app on Apple TV has audio/video synching issues.

Subtitles work so well on mine I get annoyed I have to turn them off with each play typically. Of all the problems I have with Jellyfin, playing subtitles is not one.

Latest version crashes for me constantly (db on NFSv4) and audio out of sync. Those are my two biggest problems lately.

Well you did say the tradeoff of security was “for nothing” which is why I said that. I don’t know about you, but I struggle with memory issues in my older age and would love to have a memory coprocessor that helps me. I think the interface (interaction between user and the tech) will be critical here for making it usable. Regarding privacy, M$ has been touting it is offline (unless that has changed), which is why they are going to the trouble of building out these LLMs and multimodal LLMs and the Copilot PC with accelerator chips built in. It will be as secure as any other file on your computer, but the stakes will be higher for leaks, no doubt. New encryption schemes will undoubtedly be required as it’s on the cusp of being a digital part of the users’ self.
