Woah, thank you for this. I’ve wanted to learn more about torrenting and how music files work anyway so actually sitting down and needing to study for this is a big plus.
This is what summer does to a fella
I knew I regonized that structure. Read the caption you put and yep, I’ve been there. Absolutely awe inspiring piece of architecture.
After looking more closely, some of them do look AI generated. I still think the idea of the images is nice but it is annoying to see how it messes up the details.
Potash…potash is forever. I can never escape my dark past.
More Frutiger Aero photos because I can’t stop thinking about how beautiful it is:
One thing about it is that it ain’t the most homely of aesthetics and architectures. It’s almost always in the context of a workplace, airport, shopping center, etc. In an ideal world I’d live in a mid century modern house and work in a frutiger aero workplace.
Edit: just found this really cool website https://frutigeraeroarchive.org/
Yeah, one thing that I’m not a fan of with some of the pictures that I selected is all the white. I like it better when there’s other colors and white is just the accent.
Frutiger Aero. This is what the future should have looked like. It’s a beautiful balance between nature and technology. I love the glossy, transpartent, rounded nature of it all. The colors are bright and fresh but relaxing at the same time.
I’m also a big fan of mid century modern. It does a good job at incorporating a natural look. On the outside, the buildings are usually low profile and blend into the landscape well. On the inside, there’s a lot of nice, quality natural materials like wood and stone that are used throughout.
I’m curious, what about it makes it for tech people who like music?
That looks really cool, but is too high for my price range unfortunately. I usually get nice things used (and reduced price) but this is too new to do that.
You could have multiple fans especially if it’s a desktop. Check if there’s another one.
Do you have an HDD or a SSD? If it’s an HDD it’s the disk inside of it making that noise and you should get a new one immediately.
Are you talking about radio.garden?
I don’t remember life without the internet. I was exposed to it when I was really little. Unfortunately it wasn’t that different from today. Was super corporate already at that point. It’s been cool to experiment with search engines that piorize obscure websites like Marginalia search to catch a glimpse of what the internet used to be like before my time.
It’s been a while since I’ve played super metroid, but I really liked it. The point of it isn’t the plot, it’s exploring strange new places and then coming back to them cleverly when you realize the new item you’ve unlocked will work on that mysterious closed door. If you’re really not enjoying it, I suggest you just skip to fusion because super metroid isn’t particularly plot heavy. I liked discovering all the secret areas and items in super, but to each their own.
Hmm, the website seems to be down.
As with most things, when big corporations take over it becomes bad. Definitely agree with you that using it as your only way of getting info is bad, but it’s not much different from relying on one influencer or podcaster for all your info other than it being more likely to be more well researched. I will say at least with my local one it’s a pretty diverse method of entertainment. They’ve got all kinds of weird and quirky shows on.
Not quite answering your question, but I highly recommend reading Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demrick. It’s a really interesting book about daily north Korean life based on accounts of defectors. It does a really good job at humanizing North Koreans and understanding how the country works for day to day life.
