Anybody else excited for Super Mario Bros. Wonder? I think the animations look really slick and it’s awesome to see 2d mario that doesn’t look and play like a game that came out for the Nintendo DS in 2006.

I think you spoke on the most important point. New Super Mario Bros lasted its tenure for far too long, basically killing the entire 2D Mario franchise. This breath of fresh air will continue to inspire future generations of developers to continue to care about 2D Mario. Feels good, considering my entire childhood was spent playing 2D platformers on Nintendo consoles.

I’m not preordering out of principle, but the game looks great!Yeah I definitely don’t pre order games anymore. But I’ll be picking this one up on release for sure.
Let’s see if they can beat the insane courses people made in Mario Maker 2
The idea of a purely contextual power up is a fun idea, and “wonder” is a good term for what’s been missing from recent 2D Mario games.
It looks very neat but I’m not used to the shorter mario yet
