      Was it ever?

Admittedly I’m not an expert in Russian history, but I feel like there’s not been a time in the last several centuries that Russia has had a government that had any regard for Innocent lives, whether other nations or their own people.

Putin was willing bomb russian civilians to boost his early political position. Fsb bombings claimed a lot of lives. Power corrupts.

When other countries voluntarily sign up to be part of a defensive alliance: expansionism.

When I violently invade my neighbour and start brutally murdering their people: just protecting myself.

They’re trying to make Russia great again. Newsweek is awkwardly good at reporting this type of shit. Russian propagandists are basically trying to justify Russian imperialism around the baltics while also setting up a plan to irradiate Siberia with a nuclear airburst in order to dissuade China from making the same type of land grab as Russia themselves did. They’re fucked and nobody deserves it more.

Sorry what? Ukraine support continues and aside from some very loud conversations has general popularity.

Yes from the government, not the people. People and Independents polled for this (55%) [source](https://edition.cnn.com/2023/08/04/politics/cnn-poll-ukraine/index.html#:~:text=Overall%2C 55%25 say the US,say it should do more.]

Independents mostly say the US has done enough to help Ukraine (56%) and that they oppose additional funding (55%).

A majority, but not all (68%) of those who say the US should do more to support Ukraine favor additional funding, as do 23% of those who say the US has already done enough.

And many people oppose helping Ukraine, when these warcrimes are happening inside Europe and thousands of innocent people die and civilian infrastructure is destroyed for nothing and people being terrorized, for the sake of a stupid Russia’s war.

It’s such a shame to see that people have such ignorance to what’s happening in the world while they live and prosper in peaceful places without war. People that have been building their villages, cities, towns, homes, for decades, now have nothing. Not even clothes or water. We’re talking about civilians, who are being bombed, inside Europe. And some Americans still believe “US has done enough”.

This is by principle war criminality, and should be opposed till the last stand. Till Russia is held accountable for its massive crimes against the world.

You don’t fight war crimes with war crimes. It might be tempting, as revenge is built into our genes. But, remember who the enemy actually is, and not who you imagine from a gut feeling. A war crime wouldn’t punish Moscow, it would give them credibility for propaganda.
