The Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine successfully conducted the special operation “Barinya”, as a result of which it was possible to recruit a Russian military personnel.

Yusov’s direct speech : “As a result of the special operation “Barinya”, the lieutenant, military personnel of the Russian Federation Danylo Volodymyrovych Alfyorov, who since June 2023 actively cooperated with the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate, transferred to the Ukrainian side. Alfyorov convinced and voluntarily transferred 11 servicemen of the Russian Federation to be captured by several parties. When there was a threat to Alfiorov’s life, Ukraine carried out a special operation for his controlled withdrawal to Ukrainian territory.”

Details : The transportation of Alfyorov to the territory controlled by Ukraine was carried out by the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The Russian said that he contacted the Ukrainian side thanks to the “I want to live” project.

During his cooperation with the GUR, he convinced 11 servicemen of the Russian Federation to surrender.

Alfyorov’s direct speech : "The Ukrainian side offered me to find Russian servicemen who want to surrender under the “I want to live” program. During the period of cooperation, I managed to take three groups of soldiers into captivity. After they began to suspect me, I told the curator from “I want to live, I’m leaving. Once I got to the territory of Ukraine, met the Ukrainian SSO, I went through all the procedures provided for the soldiers of the Russian Federation who surrendered as prisoners.”

On August 23, it became known that recently the Mi-8 helicopter of the Russian Armed Forces ended up in Ukraine as a result of a long-term special operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The pilot and his family are in Ukraine , the family was taken out of the Russian Federation early. The Mi-8 remained in Ukraine along with parts for the fighter jets it was supposed to deliver to the Russians. After that, the GUR announced that the number of Russian soldiers who want to surrender to Ukraine as prisoners increased by 70% .
