Geneva - The Israeli army introduced groups of Israeli civilians into detention centres and prisons holding Palestinian prisoners and detainees from the Gaza Strip, permitting the civilians to witness torture crimes against the detainees, with many allowed to film them on their own phones.

The released detainees told Euro-Med Monitor that the Israeli soldiers had purposefully presented them before Israeli civilians, falsely claiming that they were fighters affiliated with Palestinian armed factions and that they had taken part in the 7 October attack on Israeli towns on Gaza Strip borders.

According to testimony received by Euro-Med Monitor, groups of ten to twenty Israeli civilians at a time were permitted to watch and laughingly film Palestinian prisoners and detainees in their underwear while Israeli army soldiers subjected them to physical abuse, including beating them with metal batons, electric sticks, and pouring hot water on their heads. The detainees were also verbally abused.

Palestinian Omar Abu Mudallala, 43, told the Euro-Med Monitor team: “I was arrested at the checkpoint set up near the Kuwait roundabout, which separates Gaza City from the central region, as part of the Israeli random arrest campaigns. I was subjected to all types of torture and abuse for approximately 52 days,” pointing out that Israeli soldiers “brought Israeli civilians to watch our nude torture.”

Abu Mudallala added: “The Israeli army brought a number of Israeli civilians into our detention centres while beating us and telling them, ‘These are Hamas terrorists who killed you and raped your women on 7 October,’ while the Israeli civilians were filming us being beaten, abused, and tortured while making fun of us.”

Abu Mudallalasaid that “one of the detainees who speaks Hebrew tried to explain to the Israeli civilians that we are civilians and we had nothing to do with any military activities, but that also did not help. However, he was subjected to severe psychological and physical torture. It was really shameful to bring Israeli citizens to record our torture for being allegedly involved in killing and rape incidents.”

Using a torture camp as an attraction park for civilians is some shit I thought I would only read in fiction books like Hunger Games.

As far as I am aware, while regular civilians in Germany aided the Nazis in rounding up Jews, they didn’t typically participate in the concentration camps.

        This is quite different indeed.

My point is the irony of a culture who bases their entire national identity on previous victimhood and centuries of oppression is now frolicking in the blood and screams of others.

        Very, very human, and awful.

Me too. But the reason we do is only circumstantial. Any and all humans are capable of such actions under the right circumstances.

How normalized does hatred have to be for anyone to think that this defense isn’t inherently despicable:

…falsity of the Israeli army’s claim that the Palestinian civilians subjected to torture in the presence of Israeli civilians were fighters involved in the October 7 attack

Hamas prisoners or not this is pure, unfettered zealotry and it’s embarrassing that these soldiers thought this would be a credible justification.

Edit: welp I did some digging and I don’t know what to believe now:

    https://unwatch.org/un-human-rights-office-amplifies-blood-libel-by-terrorist-sympathizers/

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor’s leadership routinely posts antisemitic and pro-Hamas content online.

The chairman of Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor’s Board is none other than Richard Falk—the former UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine who has hailed Hamas’ “spirit of resistance,” justified Palestinian violence, and claimed that Hamas aims for “long-term peaceful co-existence.” While he was Special Rapporteur, Falk was at the center of multiple controversies that led to continuous calls for his resignation by the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, and others. According to the U.S. State Department, this was because of his “despicable and deeply offensive comments, particularly his anti-Semitic blog postings, his endorsement of 9/11 conspiracy theories, and his deplorable statements with regard to the terrorist attacks in Boston.” Falk had first called the Boston bombing a false flag and then justified it as a form of “resistance” that was “bound” to result from U.S. “military undertakings.” Even Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon had to come out several times to publicly denounce Falk’s statements. Falk’s antisemitism has even gotten him fired from a Human Rights Watch committee.

UNWatch is a literal Zionist psyop calling UNRWA Hamas…

The fact that you’re quoting them to “debunk” anything proves that Euro-Med-Monitor is legit. Just go to their front page and scroll to the bottom https://unwatch.org/

UN Watch stands at the forefront in combating racism, antisemitism, and anti-Israel prejudice at the UN, taking the offensive against dictatorships and double standards.

Sure, I definitely see that they’re biased towards Pro-Israeli and their founder was Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations. I’m not going to stop looking until I find something conclusive, because of how repulsive these reported actions are. There’s a lot of propaganda out there, though.

I do not support the brutal actions of the IDF. But this particular story smells funny to me.

What possible motive would the Israelis have to seed evidence of their own crimes?

Videos of this held by civilians are at high risk of being leaked or hacked off phones by a technically competent opponent like Iran. That could only possibly add pressure to the US to rein in their wayward ally.

Maybe my instinct is off, that’s totally possible, but this seems like all risk and no reward. I’m waiting for more proof or corroboration before I accept this.

        Here’s their wikipedia page:

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euro-Mediterranean_Human_Rights_Monitor

Founder and chairman is Ramy Abdu:

Ramy Abdu (Arabic: رامي عبده) (or Ramy Abdo) is a Palestinian financial expert, assistant professor of Law and Finance, and human rights advocate who was born in the Gaza Strip. He is the founder and chairman of the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor … Abdu was the assistant director and Palestine Office Manager for Council for European Palestinian Relations, an organisation described by The Independent as "a Belgian non-profit organisation that lobbies on behalf of the Hamas-led Gaza Government

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramy_Abdu

Not that this means the story isn’t true obviously, but the source isn’t exactly unbiased.

Suddenly when you can’t link MBFC because it doesn’t work this time you start linking Wikipedia shit.

Zionists and trying to question the source on every single anti-israel post name a better combo

I don’t care what an IDF soldier editing wikipedia wrote using quotes from a Zionist newspaper. This is an official EU registered non-profit.

Also, depending on who you ask, “lobbying on behalf of the Hamas-controlled government” can mean basically any support for Palestinians, including any criticism of the Israeli government’s atrocities.
