The report said: “The threat from extreme right-wing terrorism (ERWT) in Western countries is increasingly a transnational issue in terms of radicalising influence, inspiration and communication, unlike Islamist terrorist groups, extreme right-wing terrorists are not typically organised into formal groups with leadership hierarchies and territorial ambitions, but informal online communities which facilitate international links.”

It went on: “Extreme right-wing terrorist narratives are also exploited by hostile actors such as Russia, which is seeking to promote divisive and polarising narratives in the West, which is likely to increase in the future.”

Related to this they are also monitoring the risk posed by the so-called incel movement, a predominantly male and online subculture who define themselves as unable to get a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one. Discussions in incel groups online often feature themes of misogyny and misanthropy and the ideology has been linked to a number of terror attacks in North America.

Read the article for more on new groups becoming eligible for the terrorist label.

Any official acknowledgment of the rising threat from ring-wing domestic terrorism is good. The first step to solving a problem is identification!

What I find hilarious about this report is that they point out differences between Islamist terror groups and right wing terror groups that aren’t differences just different stages. I dealt with this professionally and all those Islamist groups started out exactly like the right wing groups. They found support from imams who generally aligned with their ideology. The imams would have funding through charity organizations run through the mosques. They would begin funding people within the mosque that were interested in this type of activism. It didn’t start with suicide bombings right out the gate it progressed fairly naturally and fundamentalist activist found funding through fundamentalist mosques and Islamic charities then nation states found they could donate to these charities and escalate matters in foreign adversaries domestically. This is not only identical to Islamic terrorism its following the exact same path to a potential Daesh being born in these countries. I already foresee the potential for christian evangelist to attempt to create a caliphate. Literally Hyung Jin Moon is attempting this right now with the Gun Church.

EDIT: Whats interesting as well is earlier western action massively escalated those groups and radicalized them further. It will be interesting to see if anyone in power learned a damn thing from our past mistakes.

I like to think of it in the sense that they are saying the children are being saved from this psychopath. Like “Can you believe this fuck procreated?”

It makes sense because if we take away the focus of Islam as a religion and just look at what they espouse, there is little difference between right wingers and extremist Islamic groups. Islamic groups just have that bit extra flavour.

David Myatt is an interesting link between the two.

Unfortunately, the Tories are by far the most destructive right wing terror group in the UK, and nobody seems to be able stop them at the moment. Maybe at the very end of 2024 when they can’t hold off elections any further.

I’ve read and re-read this title and it still doesn’t make sense.

London Metropolitan Police (Met) have stopped incel groups and their 39 separate terrorist plots, which were to attack the London Pride Event, Members of Parliament (MPs) and more (landmark sites as mentioned in the article).

The primary threat remains from Islamist extremism, which accounts for 67 per cent of attacks since 2018, around 75 per cent of MI5 caseload and 64 per cent of those in custody for terrorism.

However extreme right-wing terrorism is increasing and has accounted for 22 per cent of attacks since 2018, around 25% of MI5 caseload and 28 per cent of those in custody for terror offences.

That’s all just right wing terrorism?

I may be wrong, but I think in the usa, christian right wing nationalists have committed more terrorist attacks

In Canada a guy randomly went in and stabbed a gender studies professor and two students in class at uWaterloo. Broad daylight, two knives random people in a classroom of 40. Was a previous graduate.

Considering they think bicycle wheels are deadly weapons, and a bacon sandwich is a hate crime, I’d love to see what those 39 terrorist plots actually were. Someone holding up a sign?

Im talking about actual instances of the UK police doing weird shit, and making mountains out of not-even-molehills. I don’t trust them, especially with serious statements.

i do agree, i went to an information sharing focused climate protest in a field and the police shut down the whole area and confiscated everything sharp from the vegan kitchen because they had ‘intelligence’ that green protestors planned to throw ninja-stars into horses eyes.

being bi i know very well that there are genuine threats from evil minded right wing crazies, but also i know just as well not to trust the MET for a second.
